BBR Models – 1/18 Scale – Ferrari 375 Plus V.C. Panamericana 1954 Diecast Model Replica
The Ferrari 375 Plus , also known as Ferrari 375 Plus Pinin Farina Spider , was the works car of the Scuderia Ferrari in the 1954 Sports Car World Cup.
The 375 Plus stood in 1954 only the factory pilots of Scuderia available. The privateers had to make do with the Ferrari 375MM . The 375 Plus had a 330 hp V12 engine , which was derived from the engine of the Formula 1 – 375F1 . The original 4.4-liter agregate was drilled to 4954 cc. This additional half-liter capacity resulted in the “plus” in the type designation. The cylinder liners were screwed into the block and unlike the 375MM, which had a live axle , the Scuderia engineers incorporated a De Dion axle into the 375 Plus. However, since this axle needed more space in the vehicle, the fuel tank had to be integrated higher into the body than was intended for the MM. This resulted in a powerful bulge over the boot, giving the car its characteristic shape and making it easier to distinguish the plus from the MM.
