Biante B43403B – 1/43 Reserve Collection XW GTHO Falcon #64E A Moffat 1970 Bathurst Winner

What you are buying is an item never displayed yet a resale. It did have a fault in the driver’s window frame where it could not close. Look closely as I repaired it. It now closes better.

The origins of the Bathurst 1000 date back to 1960 when the Armstrong 500 was held at the Phillip Island Grand Prix. The 500-mile race was held here until 1962, after which the track was closed for several years due to damage and the race moved to Mount Panorama in Bathurst. In 1966 the race changed its name to the Gallaher 500, and from 1968 it was renamed the Hardie-Ferodo 500. From 1973 the distance of the race was increased to 1000 km and until 1980 it was organized as the Hardie-Ferodo 1000. Initially, the race was intended for standard production cars, divided into classes depending on engine capacity. From 1962 onwards, the division of classes depended on the purchase price of the car and the classes were determined in this way until 1971. In 1972, capacity price units were adopted, where engine capacity, expressed in litres to three decimal places, was multiplied by the purchase price in Australian dollars to obtain the CP value for each vehicle, but from 1973 onwards the original division based on engine capacity was reverted to. The division into classes lasted until 1994, and since 1995 the Bathurst 1000 race has been made up of cars from one class. In 1999, the race was included in the Australian Touring Car Championship, which was renamed the V8 Supercar Championship Series.
In 1970, the division of classes according to the purchase price of the car was as follows:
Class A – up to $1,960 (Datsun 1200, Ford Escort 1300, Mazda 1300, Toyota Corolla), Class B – from $1,961 to $2,400 (Datsun 1600, Fiat 128, Ford Cortina, Holden Torana 2.6),

C-Class – from $2,401 to $3,150 (Chrysler Valiant Pacer, Ford Escort 1.6, Holden Torana 3.1, Morris Cooper S), D-Class – from $3,151 to $4,100 (Chrysler Valiant Pacer, Fiat 125S, Triumph 2.5 PI),

E-Class – over $4,100 (With the exception of individual BMW 2800 and Holden Monaro cars, the class consisted exclusively of Ford Falcon GTHO Phase II cars).
The race after starting from pole position was won for the first time by Allan Moffat. The Canadian driver competed behind the wheel of a Ford Falcon GTHO Phase II (E-class). The podium was taken only by drivers starting alone (without a second driver). Bruce McPhee, driving the same car as Allan Moffat, was second, and Don Holland, driving a Holden LC Torana GTR XU-1 C-Class, was third.
