Magirus-Deutz was a German manufacturer of firefighting equipment, trucks , military vehicles and buses .

Since 1936 part of the Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz group (KHD), it was more or less a direct descendant of the company founded by Nicolaus Otto . Brand-typical were air-cooled diesel engines from KHD.

Magirus has become known as a manufacturer of all kinds of firefighting equipment. Later, trucks and buses equipped with air-cooled Deutz diesel engines were also produced. Known are the beef haubers and eckhaubers that could be heard from afar because of the characteristic sound of the air-cooled Deutz engine.
