History The Hesketh 308 is a Formula One racing car designed by Harvey Postlethwaite for Hesketh Racing to compete in the 1974 and 1975 World Championships. The car gave James Hunt his first World Championship Grand Prix win in the 1975 Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort. However, the car proved itself to be quick but unreliable, failing several times with a variety of transmission breakages. The Hesketh Racing team folded at the end of the 1975 season as Hesketh could no longer afford to keep financing his unsponsored team, and James Hunt moved to McLaren for 1976 Season. And after 1975 the car was campaigned by privateer Teams with little success.
